Lena is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher who integrates Mindfulness Meditation into her personal practice and her teaching. She has been a student of Yoga since 1978 with a strong foundation in Iyengar Yoga

Since the summer of 2002, Lena has been intensively studying Anusara Yoga and is currently working toward her certification in this system of Hatha Yoga. Anusara Yoga is a uniquely integrated approach in which the art of opening to grace powerfully blends with the science of biomechanics. With gentle strength and warmth Lena creates a sacred space that joyously opens and transforms the heart. 

Before moving to the U.S. from Germany in 1990, Lena, a biologist by training, had been working in biomedical/biochemical research. She continued this professional path until 2002, after which she dedicated her energy entirely to the study, practice and teaching of Yoga. 

Lena teaches Yoga at studios in the Tampa Bay area, including the Lotus Room Yoga Studio, Namaste Yoga Studio and Tree Frog Yoga Studio. She offers private Yoga instruction in her home and along with psychologist Steve Shealy, PhD, co-leads 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programs.
